Other Metals

In addition to the other metals and metal blends used to create Pandora jewellery, a selection of different metal alloys is also used to a minor degree as base components.

Titanium Alloy

Titanium is a lightweight, naturally occurring silver-white metal noted for its strength and durability in jewellery making. The hardest of natural metals, it is three times the strength of steel and much stronger than gold, silver and platinum - yet is deceptively light in weight. Pure titanium is also 100% hypoallergenic, which means that it is safe for all to wear. Titanium alloy consists of titanium, aluminium and vanadium, a hard yet malleable silvery-grey transition metal. Pandora’s Moments Silver Mesh Bracelet is crafted from high-quality, ethically sourced materials and is meticulously hand-finished. While the clasp, endings and mesh structure are crafted from sterling silver, but inside is a flexible core made from titanium alloy.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel was invented in 1913 for use in industrial applications but has since found its way into commercial use for fashion and jewellery. Traditionally used for watches, stainless steel in jewellery making has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its affordability, durability and sleek, industrial look. An alloy of iron, stainless steel is, like its name suggests, stain and corrosion resistant. It is used in Pandora jewellery as a minor component in pieces that require extra, strength such as bracelet clasps.

For any product that contains other metals besides e.g. sterling silver or solid 14k gold, marketers must disclose such metal if it’s a substantial part of the jewellery, to avoid misleading consumers into believing that the jewellery is pure sterling silver or solid 14k gold.

Beneath the sterling silver mesh, an inner core of titanium alloy ensures flexibility and strength.

Stainless steel is used by Pandora inside clips as well as round and barrel clasps on bracelets.
